Security at Tenerife Airport and Smoking

Hi Gary
Can you tell me where I can find info about the security restrictions at Tenerife Airport? It's the hand luggage bit really, what you can and can't take - Italian airports differ from UK so we had a problem last year and would like to avoid problems in May.
Also, having read a previous post, what is the situation with regards to areas for smokers in the airport? Are there now any or is it a case of resorting to the toilets?

Regards smoking...some of the airports seem to have smoking areas some dont. The law is definately no smoking but it is Spain!
