can you please confirm what is required by Lanzarote airport screening/security gates on a return flight from Lanzarote if a customer needs to carry insulin and syringe on board flight as hand luggage

Im not 100%. I think you need to speak to the airline that you are flying with so they are aware that you may need to take this on board.

Alternatively you can call Lanzarote Airport and speak to them direct.
