Air Show at Murcia Airport 2007

Hi Gary,

I don't know if you can help me or not, but do you know if there is going to be an AIRE 07 Air Show this year at San Javier Airport and if there is, what date it is?
As new residents in Spain, we have family wanting to visit us for the first time at the beginning of June and we have heard horror stories about people being diverted to Alicante Airport last year and not knowing where they were, or how they would get their Car Hire etc. Obviously we wouldn't want it happening to us, so we have been searching the net to see if we could find any info and found your site instead.

Hi Chris last year was a nightmare, they basically shut the airport down for 3 days (only in Spain!).

Dont know whether the show is on again this year, best thing to do is call the airport and ask:0034 968 172 000

If in doubt I would get your friends to fly into Alicante

Hi Gary,

Thanks for replying so promptly.

By chance I was at the airport today, sending our daughter back home to UK after Xmas and the New Year and we asked at the information desk about the possibility of an air show in June.

The guy behind the counter, in typical Spanish fashion, shrugged his shoulders and said "maybe, maybe not. Ask again in March. We might know more by then"

So I am not holding my breath, and I think I will do as you suggest and tell my family to fly in to Alicante. If we hear anymore I will let you know.
