MY REPLY

Hi Janet

Thats upsetting to say the least!!! I have never heard of them but companies are springing up all over the place.

The Spanish numbers on their website are MOBILES and as you say are not working, I called the UK number and got an answerphone.

I even ran a check on their website to see who owns it becuase it's a strange Domain name (http://www.mediterranean-holidays.citymax.com) what this name means is that the company Mediterranean Holidays is just a small site on a much larger website that offers website building and hosting at cheap rates.

Kind of like a small room in massive office block!

As an example if my site was there it would be www.spanish-airport-guide.citymax.com......

The main company where the site is hosted is: http://www.citymax.com/

I dont think you will get any information there.

All in all cheap website hosting, Spanish Mobiles and Paypal make me think that they have set up on the cheap and shut down again. I feel sorry for you because their website looks the part!

In my opinion your only re-course is through Paypal, I would try them. Last year I purchased something using Paypal, it never turned up, I complained to paypal and got my money back.

Although this is of little consilation there are pretty good bus routes from Alicante to Benidorm (see here) and for SAFE and SECURE online booking of another airport transfer I would try www.shuttledirect.com or Transfer Store,

Both companies are part of much larger organisations and we recommend both of them. Transfer Store is mainly for English Travellers and is part of Alpharooms Hotels and Shuttle Direct are part of a Spanish Travel Company and have some really good transfer deals.

Let me know if you get anywhere and I have added this post to the message board to see if anyone else has any problems or knowledge.

Good luck and don't let it ruin your holiday

Regards

Gary

Hi,

We have prevoiusly used Mediterranean Holidays Plc and we had a very good experience.
They are linked to Subus Ltd in Alicante and the service offered to me and my husband was fantastic.
Highly reccommended

Once again, Gary, I have to thank you for your rapid response - believe me it makes all the difference. Yes. Costa transfer have sent me two emails since I last sent you one and Andrew, equally, like yourself, has been most helpful - all appears above board and no hidden extras and we dont pay until we arrive which is brilliant. Thanks to you for all your help. Please do forward my comments on to your higher management - I don't think any visitors to Ireland would have met with such helpfulness before they arrived in the country, as I have done in my contact with you!It does make a difference!!
regards Johanna

On Sun Nov 26 12:18 , 'Ronald Horner' sent:

I was interested to read correspondence regarding the above Company. We have dealt with this Company on several occasions without any problems. This time, however, we booked a taxi from Malaga to Benalmadena but were unable to pay through Paypal. Their site said payments should be made through their account with NatWest Bank which I have done. Unfortunately no confirmation of payment came from Mediterranean Holidays and I too have been unable to contact the Company by phone. I did write to them at their Head Office in Portugal (no answer from there) and also to their Office in Alicante. I have received an e-mail from that address but the Company there have never heard of Mediterranean Holidays. Do you think we will ever get a refund?

Dear Gary,

Last year I used Mediterranean Holidays PLC for an airport transfer from Alicante to Benidorm and the service was excellent.

This year I booked again for another transfer to Benidorm using the same company. They had changed their name to SUBUS Group Ltd and the payment was via an internet bank transfer rather than by secure pal.

Unfortunately for me when I arrived in Alicante the transport for my party of 13 personnel did not arrive. It became apparent that a large number of personnel were also left stranded at the airport for a couple of weeks prior to my arrival.

I called the numbers given to me by the company however the Spanish numbers were dead and the uk number switched to an answer phone. As expected I never received a return call from the message I left.

On return from holiday, the company informed me the mistake was because of the change of company name and its servers had failed and lost booking information. They said they would give me a full
refund and three complementary transfers that can be used this year.

I have not received the refund so far and they do not answer my e-mails. I have contacted the bank in Scotland they got me to send my money too however the Nat West have said they cannot assist.

Please warn other unsuspecting travellers of the dangers of booking their Alicante transfer via the following websites:

www.diytravelshop.co.uk/contact.php
Mediterranean Holidays PLC
http://www.mediterranean-holidays.citymax.com

I managed to get an answer on the companies number today, however once I mentioned the refund they hung up the phone. As before it is now on answerphone.

I would be grateful if anyone can advise other methods of warning others about this company.

GARY IF YOU HAVE ANYWAY OF WARNING THE PUBLIC ABOUT THIS COMPANY PLEASE ADVISE

Many Thanks

Paul

Hi all.

Aparently Mediterranean Holidays Plc had a major problem on their reservation sitem, which they have last information on their bookings and that data could not be recovered.
That is why some transfer services have failed.

I have used this company in the past , and to be quite honest, they were very good with their services.

I want to apologise to Mediterranea Holidays Ltd.

Many thanks.
