How far is Vitoria Airport from San Sebastian, and what means of transportation are available ? What is the fare?

Vitoria is a very very small airport and before Ryanair started flying there it didnt even have a bus service!
It's about 114kms from the Airport to San Sebastian, taxis would be about €125, car hire may be a better and cheaper option.
You can get the bus into the center of Vitoria..then get a train to san Sebastian, the train will take about 90 minutes and cost between €15-20. The bus timetable for the airport is below, for for train information follow this link.

The best choice to go from Vitoria/Gasteiz to Donostia/San Sebastian I think is the bus, it costs around 5-6€ and it takes 1 hour. The bus station is in the city center, ask how to arrive there in the airport.

Which bus companies go from the Vitoria airport to San Sebastian? I found that Continental-Auto does the journey, is it best to book a ticket in advance or can I wait until I arrive at the airport?

See the message above yours, I am sure that Auto Continental go from the City not the airport!
REF booking: I am not sure how busy the buses get and if you are delayed by Ryanair what would happen to a pre paid bus ticket?
On the other hand can you imagine getting there and the bus being full!
