Driving from Valencia to Pennsicola

Hi Gary-thank goodness I found your website ! Basically,we arrive Valencia Sunday Morning 10th Sept and have to get to Peniscola (155km ?) which looks straightforward according to the map - straight up the A7. I havent driven on the continent for 18yrs so I need you to boost my confidence by giving me a blow by blow account of how to get out, and get across to the A7 from the airport. The AA routeplanner I downloaded takes me into Valencia -( no way) but a Michelin map I found, seems to indicate either northwest out to junction 504(A7) or due west on the A3 E901 out to intersect the A7, then into the AP7 and on up. I will book up with Shuttle Direct if I have to but it will cost more than our flights, or 4 star accommodation in Peniscola. Isuppose there are English speaking staff at Holiday Autos but Im petrified of making a mistake. Any help or advice you can offer will be much appreciated. Many thanks Chris Elwell

Hi Chris

Been a while since I was up that way but below is a link to the best map and directions I can find.

You can zoom in and out and move the map by left clicking on your mouse and moving it at the same time. You can also print it and the directions off.

As you will see from the map you DO NOT need to go through Valencia, in fact it's a very very simple drive.

The A7 motorway is a piece of cake to drive on, empty in September compared to the roads in the UK!

I would hire a car and go for it, the cost of a transfer that far is huge and you will only wish you had driven.

I would also say that driving here has got a lot easier since the last time you were here, the handouts from the EU have been well spent on ROADS that now put the UK to shame!

Heres the link....

Good luck and have a great holiday
