Smoking at Palma Airport

On Sat Aug 26 21:10 , 'corinna tattersall' sent:

Please would you let me know what the smoking policy is in Palma Airport in Majorca.
Can you smoke in Arrivals or do you have to smoke outside the building? I will be flying there for a holiday and hoped to get a quick cigarette before I get the coach to Alcudia.
Thanks
Corinna

Hi Corinna

All airports have a designated smoking area and as smoking is so popular in Spain I am sure that you will find somewhere to smoke in the arrivals / luggage collection area.

Just head to where everyone else is smoking!

Have a great trip

I have just got back from Palma and there is nowhere to smoke on arrival until you get outside.
Also, on departure, I could nowhere to smoke after security. There used to be an area in Modulo "C", but that has gone since I was last there in June.

Thanks for that.

I was at Malaga Airport last week and they now have special self contained rooms for smokers.

There are quite hidden!

When I was there a month or so ago you could smoke in the open at certain points.

Seems like things are changing

On arrival at Palma airport, after going through security to wait for flight to leeds bradford, I was very annoyed to find out that there were no smoking areas at all, after asking an official if there was any where to smoke we were told that it was forbidden. If I had known this I would have popped outside whilst the rest of the family were checking in! Going to the plane we thought we were going straight to the plane but were led outside to a bus, if I had known this I could have had a quick fag along with the other desperate people who were puffing ten to the dozen on theirs before the bus left!! On the whole I have never sworn so much or moaned as much over not having a smoke. The easiest thing would be to quit smoking.

You should have just followed the Spanish!!! There is no way that Spanish people will NOT BE SMOKING at Palma Airport, they are quite ingenious! I have found them smoking in the toilets, by windows and of course by any door or opening!
But perhaps it would be easier and healthier just to give up!
Thnaks for the post it made me chuckle
