Gary, I need to get to Rabinal on Sat. Sept. My flight arrives at 16.05 and the Alsa bus leaves earlier. Can you suggest how I might get to my destination. I cannot rent a car for two weeks! I am volunteering at a Camino hostel for 2 weeks. Do you know of anyone personally that would drive me and I could pay them? Many thanks.FROM BRIGID

I dont know anyone up in that area, I live about 1200 kms away in Marbella
The best thing that I can suggest is posting on the Pilgrims Forum where other travellers must be having similar discussion, you can find out more here...

Gary: Can you check the Renfe website and see if I can get a train from Valladolid to Astorga? I arrive at 16:05. on Sept. 30 I looked it up, but can't understand which train I would take??? Many thanks. Sorry to be a pain! BrigidMY REPLY
Hi Brigid,
You need to get a taxi / bus into Valladolid RENFE train station and then get a train from Valladolid into Leon,
You can get the timetables here in English - Trains Valladolid to Leon
Once in Leon there are buses that run hourly throughout the day upto Astorga
Here is a link to the timetables for the buses, the last one is at 2130 so you should have plenty of time
http://www.astorga.com/transportes%20publicos%20en%20astorga.htm#BUSES
I can see that there is a train station in Astorga but can't find out about the trains there, it may be worth you calling RENFE and just checking that there are not any train connections. You can call them on 0034 902 24 02 02.
Hope this helps and all goes well
Regards
