MY REPLYGary,Could you help me with this one, my wife bought 3 bottles of perfume from the duty free shop in Alicante airport. 2 bottles contained perfume and the 3rd was virtually empty. We didn't check at the time, I'm woundering is there an email address or contact details.I have attached some photos of the perfume, etc. Thanks in advance for the help and assistance very much appreciatedMark Thomas
Hi Mark
The shop (Aldeasa) don't publish their email addresses (not untypical of Spain!) but here are 2 telephone numbers for the shop at Alicante Airport:
0034 965 680 538 or 0034 965 680 575
I hope you are able to resolve the problem but I fear that you won't get very far, in my experience Customer Services on these kind of issues are not the same as in the UK, but it is still worth you trying.
It would be interesting to hear from you to see how this progresses and I am adding this thread to the main message board today.
Out of interest was the 3rd bottle in a sealed box or not?

dear Gary,
I also have a complaint about Aldeasa regarding their recent practice of converting currency into GBP with credit card purchases. This is obviously at a much poorer rate for customers and makes money for Aldeasa. This happened to me in March this year, and despite calling the customer services number on the receipt and leaving 2 messages over the last week, I have had no response. I also found their email address on the internet, but the message was returned. How can such a huge global company not have a functioning complaints procedure? I understand that this currency conversion practice, without the customer's consent is illegal under EU law. I'm writing to the press. What else can we do about it?
Not a lot I'm afraid.
Sometimes things like this are very frustrating but I suppose from there point of view there are also language barriers etc.
They will have a complaints procedure but it will be in Spanish, are you able to converse with them in Spanish via email or telephone? Maybe thats why they haven't called back.
Imagine if a Spanish person called Boots in the UK and left a message for a refund or to ask about complaints procedure...would anybody call them back?
Sorry if I sound a bit off but it could be your lack of Spanish that is the cause of the problem not their appproach to the problem.
Keep calling them or call this number 0034 902 404 704 which is the central helpline for all airports in Spain and they speak english. They should be able to point you in the right direction..
Regards and good luck
Gary
