I think that the buses could be the ones not operating on Christmas Eve not the taxis!
However the main company that offers the buses between the airport and Los Cristianos is http://www.titsa.com/
and their phone number is: 0034 922 531 300, I am sure they will speak English.
The other thing that you could do is to speak to Owen at Isla Canarias Tours, they are the company that we recommend for private taxi transfers at Tenerife Airport. Contact info below.....

Try A2B transfers.com,the website is showing cabs that will do the trip {about 20 mins} on 24/12/06 for £22.50 with 2 people in cab. I read on another site someone who used it and was very happy, cab was waiting at airport {with name board} and it looks as if you can book in advance online
