I would love to be able to fly from Malaga to Girona as I have to go to South Western France about 6 times per year but alas...... Even Iberia (Spains national airline) don't fly there.
You have a couple of choices.....
1) Fly to Barcelona and drive / train / taxi to Girona more info here: http://www.spanish-airport-guide.com/girona-barcelona.html
Or....fly back to the UK and out to Girona with Ryanair who are the only scheduled airline to fly to Girona!
I always fly to Barcelona and drive up it's not that bad a drive...

I will actually be coming from Granada and thought if I took the train to Malaga I could fly directly to Girona..HA!)(I read this on trip advisor).. I guess I will fly to BCN take the train to Girona and rent a car and drive to begur..AM I CRAZY??? If I got into BCN at 11:10 what time do you think I would hit Begur?? I was trying to omit the train but I heard traffic out of BCN is terrible and hard to navigate(was suggested to me to pick up rental in girona ..then drive) ..Pls suggest what to do...I am at my wits end!!

I would drive from Barcelona to Begur not bother with the train!
I drive from Barcelona up to Montpellier and it takes around 3 half hours, to Begur would take about 90 mins to 2 hours and driving is very very easy. It's also cheap to rent cars at Barcelona Airport!

Although the directions say 2 hours 45 driving I would ignore this!
One last thought, you could also get a Train from Granada to Girona!
