Hi Lindsay

I am away at the moment and cant get to my emails as often as I would like!

On Tuesday I drove from my home in Marbella (1 km from Puerto Banus) to Jerez and flew to Stansted with Ryanair.

It took 90 minutes!

Take the A -381 to Los Barrios / Algerciras from Jerez and then at Algeciras take the A7 / N340 towards Malaga. When the road splits after Gibralatar take the Toll roads to Malaga for easier driving!

It;s about 100 kms from Jerez to Algerciras and 75 kms from Algerciras to Marbella!

Getting off the motorway and finding Puerto banus can be tricky though! Leave the toll road at the SAN PEDRO junction, head for the sea (you can see it) and follow the signs.

For proper directions go to www.theaa.com and to see it on a map goto http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=aeropuerto+de+jerez+spain&ie=UTF8&ll=36.745487,-6.061707&spn=1.584582,3.449707&om=1

Hope this helps

Regards

Gary

Drove back from Jerez to Marbella last night, landed at 2045 got home at 2345, not bad but I didnt have to wait for a hire car!

Will write up my directions later on the message board but there's a a couple of turn offs that ARE NOT that clear.

1) Out of the airport head for Jerez / Cadiz

2) After about 5mins take junction 631 (E5 / A4 Cadiz - Seville)

3) When you get to the E5 / A4 take the road to Cadiz

4) After a couple of mins you leave this road for the A-381 Los Barrios / Algerciras

5) You come to a t-junction after 100m , Turn left (accross the road) towards Los Barrios / Algerciras

You are then OK for about 100kms, Straight road!

6) As you get towards Gibraltar abd Algerciras the road divides and you need to follow the road to MALAGA

after 60/70 kms you will get to the San Pedro junction, bets to get directions from the AA for the journey from here!

The road between Jerez and Algerciras is new and so some of the junction haven't been marked that well yet.

Anyway have a great time

Regards

Gary
