Disabled Parking At Valencia Airport

On Thu Jun 8 9:57 , 'Dr P. Yule' sent:

Hi Gary,
I found your website really useful but hoped you might
help me.
I am driving to Spain for holiday in August. The
family are flying out to Valencia arriving late
evening ( 9.00pm )
I gather the main carpark is under development and the
nearest is a bus ride away. I have two children, one
disabled. I would like to meet them at arrivals but I
want to be able to just pull up and collect them. I
have a valid disabled badge for my son. Is there any
parking facilities that you know of that I might use.
Thanks very much

Hi Peter,

Difficult one...

I am not familar enough with all the things going on at Valencia Airport to give you an exact answer and I feel that due to the nature of your request you need EXACT information.

I would like to think that there are bays reserved for disabled right outside arrivals but I just dont know.

At least you have plenty of time to find out.

You could try asking questions on the follwoing forums and of course calling the airport on: 0034 961 598 500 the information desks normally speak very good english.

The forum I would try is: http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk

I would also go to: http://www.valenciatrader.com/

I don't wish to sound cynical but through my experience of living in Spain (Marbella) for the last 3 and a bit years you can be told one thing on the telephone and find something completely different when you get there!

However, I am sure that it will be OK for you when you get there and that it will all work out, generally this is what happens in Spain!

For the record the car parks at the airports here in Spain are NORMALLY very similar to the UK in that the Disabled parking bays are closest to the terminal buildings.

Let us know what happens and good luck Peter

Regards

Gary

Hi
The airport car park at Valencia is being turned into a multi storey. Parking there at present is a bit haphazard at best. A lot of the taxi and local people park right out side the airport for pick ups and drop offs. If I was you I'd just head for the arrivals bit and do as they do, double park if you have to. Just make sure your disabled sticker or badge is visable.

Hi Gary,
I wrote you a while back re disabled parking at
Valencia airport.I got good advice from you and anon.
Basically, yes it is a building site. There is some
parking on both arrival and departure levels for short
periods. Anyone going there just have the arrogance to
grab a space. There are disabled parking, on both
levels although limited and is for one hour.Use your
badge. I parked there for over an hour and a half and
nobody noticed. The spanish just park where-ever.
Thanks again for your help and happy to offer advice
if I can.
Rgds
Peter
