Dear Gary
Are there any direct flights from Alicante ( or surrounding airports ) to Malaga and which airlines fly there.
Many thanks
Kim
My Reply:
Hi Kim
Unfortunately I do not know of a direct flight between Alicante and Malaga
www.iberia.es and www.spanair.com both offer flights but you will need to change at Barcelona or Madrid!
Good luck
Gary

Alicante to Malaga is far better served by Spain`s efficient, comfortable, network of long distance coach services, cheaper too.

Hi Gary
We have a problem in that we have to get my partner's two children from Alicante to Malaga as they are spending two weeks with their mom near Alincante and then they are to be with us for the following week in Duquesa on the south coast (about 3/4 hour from Malaga).
As far as I can see there are no direct flights from Alicante to Malaga. Do you know of a safe and efficient way of getting them to us?
Thanks

Hi Karen
Your right there are not any direct flights.
It all depends how old the kids are, if they are young....
The best thing to dop would be to drive 3 hours each and meet halfway.
If they are older..
Direct buses run from Alicante to Malaga, they can then change at Malaga or you can meet them there (about 75 mins from Duquesa).
Bus Company: www.alsa.es
No direct trains from Alicante to Malaga
The only other solution is for them to get a flight from Alicante to Madrid or Barcelona and then change for either Malaga or Jerez. Jerez is about 75 mins from Duquesa!
Try www.spanair.es and www.iberia.es both have ENGLISH language buttons on the home page
Hope this helps

Gary

Are there any airlines flying to/from Alicante to Malaga? We noticed a flight arrival at Alicante whilst collecting friends from Gatwick. It came from Malaga, flight code FQ but the logo on the screen was too small to see which airline operated it. We live in Spain (Costa Blanca) and wish to visit Costa del Sol next February & are having trouble finding a flight. When ever we look up flights on the websites, they start from the UK. Many thanks, Angela Edgley
Hi Angela
It's frustrating but...
As far as I know there are not ANY flights between Malaga and Alicante. Maybe the flight you saw was a one off charter flight. The main "internal" airlines for Spain are Air Nostrum, Iberia, Spanair and Europa Airlirnes and none of these offer the Alicante to Malaga Route.
I also dont know of an airline with the flight code FQ.
Easyjet are starting to offer internel spanish flights in a similar way to the UK from next March so it might be worth keeping your eye on them.
If you do end up finding out anything different please do let me know.

Gary
Thank you for your reply. Good news though. We took friends back to Alicante airport & I enquired at the info desk, who said Iberia are starting a direct route on 29/10/06. Also they are on sale already & I've booked husband & I for a short break in January for the web fare of 140€ all-in. The FQ code was a Thomas Cook charter from Belgium via somewhere else. Once again thanks from very happy ex UK Travel Agent who was beginning to think all life stopped at Alicante!! Regards, Angela
It may be worth lookig at
www.airberlin.com aireuropa.com tui.com
as well as Spanair and Iberia
Does anyone know how far Alicante to Malaga is by car ?
Thanks Jean
