Delays at Malaga Airport
There have been some really bad traffic delays at Malaga Airport as the expansion works disrupt absolutely everything.
I just had this email in and thought I would post it here.
If I were flying out of Malaga Airport after 10am then I would allow an extra 30-45 mins for the journey!

My Reply...
Hi Marlynn,
The airports a nightmare at the moment, would hate to be flying in or out during July and August!
Dropping the car off the day before might be good but seems like a waste of a couple of hours on your holiday!
Better to leave nice and early when you are flying home, if you ring your car hire company they may have a better drop off spot than usual and may then shuttle you into the airport.
If you do need the trains checkout this page:

Ps:I flew out of Malaga Airport a couple of weeks ago and it took about 20 mins longer than normal to get there.
Hope this helps,

Hi Marlynn
Helle Hollis are a really good company so call them for an update before you leave. They have a large depot opposite the San Miquel brewery on the road onto the airport and you can opt to take their shuttle bus into the airport, if it's really bad traffic you can walk from their depot to the check in desk in less than 15 mins! (kids and luggage may be a hinderance!)
I found this map of their offices: Helle Hollis Map
I hope you don't mind but I run another site with a Spanish Airport information section and have added your question and comments into the news section, I thought it would be good stuff for other people to consider...Of course I took your email address out.
You can see it here: Spanish Airport Guide
If you have got kids I can strongly recommend a trip to Fuengirola Zoo!
Regards
Gary
