Buses From Jerez To Marbella / Malaga

We were just messing about and found out some information about the buses that run from Jerez down to Marbella and Malaga.

As Ryanair are now flying into Jerez Airport and they are offering some good cheap deals this may be worth considering if you have the time and like travelling by bus.

Driving by car would only take a couple of hours so the bus is pretty slow!

You have to then get the bus (or taxi) to Jerez Airport from the City center but thats not too big a journey.

I have been to Jerez and like it a lot, it's worth getting the bus there a day early and spending the last day of your holiday in the City!

Marbella to Jerez City

The buses leave Marbella Bus Station at 0945 each day and the journey takes 4 hours, the cost is €14.68.

The buses from Jerez to Marbella leave at 1530 and get into Marbella at about 1930.

Malaga to Jerez

The buses leave Malaga at 0815 ecah day, journey time 5 hours, cost €19.15

The buses leave Jerez at 1530 each day and get into Malaga at 2030.

The links for the complete timetables are here:

There is now a regular bus service from Jerez (estacion de autobuses) to/from the airport and an alternative, offering more options, to/from Costa del Sol would be via Cadiz, using a local service thence to Jerez.

Hi Gary

There seems to be little said in the Spanish media but there are a number of reports in the UK press of a planned strike at Spanish airports on 12,13,16 and 17 March which will obviously cause chaos over the Easter period. There are also reports of strikes by hotel workers as well. We go to Malaga -any news at your end?

Have nt herad anything but will keep the blog updated I get all the Spanish news reports each day.

I know that the French Air Traffic strikes have been playing havoc with the UK flights over the last week.

I also assume you meant to say April not March :-)

Hi Gary
We need to get from Alicante area to Malaga on 27th May. Spotted your page about no direct flights, so do you have any ideas about what is the the next best option? -(I don't want to drive all that distance).

Hi Ron

Sorry to have not replied before but I have been away and have not had access to a computer.

The nest best option is to fly to Barcelona or Madrid and change for a Malaga Flight.

You could also try the trains and the routes and timetables are here:

Hi Gary
Thanks for info. Journey from Jerez to Tarifa was great, no problems. Another question, would you know the cost of a taxi from Gibraltar to Taifa? And who long is the journey?
Thanks alot
Jackie

Hi Jackie,

Gib to Tarifa is not that far, about 30 mins max, I dont know the exact cost of a taxi but I would estimate about 30 euros, maybe less.

Plenty of buses go along that road between La Linea (Spanish side of Gib), Algericas and Cadiz. They must stop at Tarifa!

By the way, Tarifa is a great place and getting better all the time!

Gary

Cheers

Hi Gary
Thanks for info. I am living in Morocco and my family come to visit, hence all the diffrent ways of getting to the ferry. Ryan air to Jerez is very cheap at the moment and my son said the journey was simple. My other son arrives into Gib. today.
Tarifa is great we spent a few days there last year, we used to live in Spain.
Thanks again
Jackie

Hello!

I saw You are very helpful and I need a little help. I will arrive to Jerez airport on 29th of September. On the homepage of the airport was written that there are buses for less than 1€. Unfortunately I didn't find more information about it.
And I am going to Cordoba then. The train is very poor because it's expensive and there are only 3 trains per day. Can you help me to find a good bus to Cordoba?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Zip
Jerez to Cordoba is 244 kms.

The buses for €1 are into the center of Jerez from there I think you would need to get a bus to Seville and then change for the Cordoba Bus.

The following company offers buses to Seville, Buses to Seville and then this company offers buses from Seville to Cordoba Buses from Seville to Cordoba
Hope this helps
