Flybe Flights To Spain

Flybe fly direct from four different UK airports to four different Spanish Airports.

Below is a listing of the various routes on offer.

Flybe have also just made changes to the way they deal with luggage, The hand luggage allowance has been increased to 10kgs in one bag and the following applies to normal baggage:

They have increased their baggage allowance to 25 kgs per passenger but you have to pay £2 for every bag that you wish to check in.

They would also like you to say when booking your tickets how many bags you will be checking in for your flights. This of course can be tricky especially if you have got kids.

For those passengers who don't specify how many bags they are taking or for those who turn up with more bags than they said there will be a £4 per bag charge at check in.

Top make what I have written a little clearer I copied this from the Flybe website:

- If you do not carry checked baggage, you will no longer have to pay the cost of carrying other peoples bags and will save £1 off your ticket
- Flybe will double the weight allowance that can be carried as hand baggage.
- Flybe will remove excess baggage charges for 99% of the travelling public by increasing hold baggage allowance to 25kgs (the highest in the low cost sector).
- Flybe will exempt all economy plus passengers from paying any baggage costs (up to 30kg).
- Flybe will introduce charges for each checked item of hold baggage of £2, per item, per sector, if booked in advance, and £4 per item, per sector if presented un-booked at the airport
- As a result of the change passengers will now only pay for the service they use rather than the cost being unfairly spread across all passengers on the aircraft whether they check a bag in or not.

Here are the details of the Flybe flights to Spain:

Flybe flights to Alicante Airport: Exeter, Birmingham, Southampton, Norwich.

Flybe flights to Malaga Airport: Birmingham, Exeter, Southampton and Norwich

Flybe flights to Murcia Airport: Birmingham, Exeter, Southampton, Norwich and Guernsey

Flybe flights to Palma Airport: Exeter, Birmingham and Southampton

Ryanair Flights To Faro

I know that Faro Airport is in Portugal but it is only about a 40 minute drive inside the border with Spain.

It's probably easier for people to fly into Faro Airport and drive to places like Cadiz and Huelva on the Costa De La Luz. The other airports in this region are Seville, Jerez and at a push Malaga.

Alternatively you could do a combined holiday and fly into Faro, spend a few days at somewhere like Vale Do Lobo or Vilamoura and then drive down to Marbella (4 hours) spend the rest of your holiday here and fly out of Malaga Airport.

Anyway, from April 2006 Ryanair are stepping up their flights from Dublin to Faro and are now offering flights on every day of the week.

Reus Airport Information

reus airportI recently went to Barcelona and thought that I should hire a car and drive down to Reus Airport as I hadn't been there for a while and I wanted to see what was going on.

Reus Airport is a small and until recently relatively unknown airport about 100 kms south of Barcelona. In 1995 just 473,000 passed through Reus Airport and these were mainly charter flights arriving over the summer months from the UK and Germany.

By 2004 passenger numbers had soared to just over 1.1 million thanks largely to Iberia Airlines for providing a decent number of internal flights from Madrid and Palma de Mallorca, Rynair from the UK and Ireland and Air Berlin from Germany. There are still a large number of charter flights that offer flights here over the peak summer months.

Aena the Spanish Airport Authority, have been busy slowly upgrading Reus Airport and there is now a new arrivals terminal with a decent coffee shop, four car hire companies and quick access to both the buses and taxis at Reus Airport.

reus departuresWork has also begun on the departures terminal and a new check in area has been completed. Although this area has been finished you still have to walk through into the old departures hall to go through passport and customs control.

The thing that surprised me the most was that parking at the airport is completely free, I can't see this lasting too much longer.

Ryanair advertise the airport as Reus Barcelona and getting up to Barcelona from here is not that bad. There are however twelve different UK Airports offering direct flights into Barcelona Airport and if you are only here for a weekend it is worth paying a little bit more money and arriving in Barcelona itself rather than Reus. From March 2006 there is also a new direct flight from glasgow Prestwick to Reus with Ryanair.

Reus is however a great airport for those of you who are traveling to the busy resort of Salou or the City of Tarragona. It is also pretty easy to get to the exclusive resort of Sitges from here.

I drove in my hire car from Barcelona down to Reus and the journey took around 1¼ hours. It's and easy drive along the toll road and the airport is well sign posted.

I have put up detailed information within the main site on : Reus Airport Arrivals, , Reus Airport Departures, Reus Airport Buses, Reus Airport Taxis, Private Reus Airport Transfers, Reus Airport Shopping, Reus Airport Parking, Flights to Reus and the following car hire companies Avis at Reus Airport, Europcar at Reus Airport, Hertz at Reus Airport and Solmar at Reus Airport

Cancelled Flight Refunds

Have you ever not turned up for your flight?

Did you wonder if you could possibly get some kind of refund even on cheap non-refundable, non-exchangable tickets?

Last year it happened to us, due to illness we didn’t use our tickets, but buying cheap tickets through Easy Jet we just let the money go and didn’t think of trying to get some kind of refund.

However, a couple of weeks ago, on BBC2´s “Working Lunch” programme, they brought to light “why should we pay the airport tax if you don’t use the airport”. With around 5% of tickets being “no-shows” that’s a lot of money floating around. So, if for some reason you are unable to fly, you can at least claim back some of the tax you have paid on your tickets, which these days, is often more than the ticket itself.

Some airlines do charge a fee for the administration of making a claim and prices vary. For further information visit: The Working Lunch Website

Record Christmas Flights From Scotland

A record number of Scots are expected to jet off to the sun this Christmas to escape the winter chill, it has emerged.

More than 500,000 passengers will fly in and out of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen airports during the festive season.

Traditional sunspots such as Tenerife, Alicante and Malaga are among this year's top 10 Christmas destinations, according to airport operator BAA.

The Middle East is also emerging as a favourite getaway for passengers, with Emirates' daily service from Glasgow to Dubai also entering the Christmas top 10 for the first time.

Glasgow Airport manager Graham Latta said: "It seems passengers have every corner of the globe covered this year, with demand for long-haul travel especially strong.

"Passengers are much more adventurous than they were just a few years ago, so while the traditional sunspots like Tenerife as are popular as ever, more and more people are travelling even further afield this Christmas."

This Friday is expected to be the busiest day of the festive season with 23,000 passengers travelling. An estimated 116,000 passengers are expected to travel in the days leading up to Christmas Day.

A further 106,000 passengers will travel between Christmas Day and Hogmanay. Several UK destinations also make the top 10, including London, Belfast, Birmingham and Bristol.

Amsterdam and Dublin are among the most popular European city breaks this Christmas. It also appears that passengers are getting into the Christmas spirit.

BAA says an estimated 30,000 pints of beer and lager, and 2,000 bottles of wine will be served throughout December as passengers unwind before their flights.

Road Improvements for Murcia Airport

Found this snippet of information which should make getting to and from Murcia Airport easier in the future!

"A big new road project is the planned link between the A7-E15 north-south motorway at Santomera and San Javier, which, amongst other things, is the site of Murcia's increasingly busy airport. More and more airlines are heading to the airport and over a million passengers have passed through this year.

The Santomera-San Javier road is in the final stages of negotiation between national and regional governments. It is planned to be 40 kilometres long and the cost will be about 210 million euros. A key element of the project is the construction of a four-kilometre long viaduct in the area of El Raal.

All the road building is being carried out as part of the Murcia regional infrastructure plan for the period 2005 to 2020."
